JAE B - "OVER" FREESTYLE

Well, that didn't take long. Jae B does what he does best over the newly released Drake single "Over." I have to give Jae credit for this one. He sees a loooong list of MC's ready to get it in over this beat and he makes sure he takes a stab at it first. Now lets all sit back and wait for every artist from Lil Wayne to Lil Flip do their version of this track. Thanks Drake! See what you started! haha

KID CUDI FEAT. SNOOP DOGG - "I DO MY THING"

Pretty damn interesting release from Cudder on this Sunday evening. Now we've already heard a Cudi x Snoop Dogg collab but the interesting part is the reports that this track is produced by Dr. Dre. Is this from Cudi's upcoming album The Revolution Of Evolution? Guess we'll have to wait and see. Until then, you know where to find the download link. Shouts to OnSmash.

Update: Received an email today from the real producers of this track Austin "Watts" Garrick and Rashad "Ringo" Smith of Tumblin' Dice Productions. Production credit was also spotted on Cudi's blog. The track is unfinished and a complete mastered version is set to appear on Cudder's new album. Hey, Dre or no Dre the track is still hot!

SUPERXOFFICIAL PRESENTS: KICKBOARD KOUTURE

So a good friend of mine from college hit me up the other day and put me on to his new label "Kickboard Kouture." The label hails from ATL where, as you can see above, my dude Jon is doing big big things. Kickboard has a dope collection of men's and women's tees, Polo's, hats and more. So stop wearing the same sh*t as everyone else, establish yourself your own identity and get that girl you've been uncomfortably staring at everyday on the bus. Kickboard will definitely help with 2 out of 3. Hey, your gear may be right but if you keep creeping out that girl by staring and not saying anything not even dope threads can help. I'm just saying. That's enough introduction; Kickboard gets a SUPERXOFFICIAL stamp of approval so head on over to their website and start spending some of that Tax Refund money. Yessir!

BIRDMAN FEAT. TYGA & LIL WAYNE - "LOYALTY"

Did you know Birdman turned 41 recently? I guess hes gonna follow in Jay's footsteps and keep his rap career going until he needs a Life Alert bracelet. haha. This joint was supposed to be his latest album but for whatever reason it didn't make it.

TREY SONGZ - "LEMONADE" X "LIL FREAK"

Watch out musicians, no track is safe from a Trey Songz remake! Plus when Trigga remakes your sh*t it sometimes turns out better than the original. Here he is getting it in over Gucci's "Lemonade" and Urrrsher's "Lil Freak." Yuuup!

CLOSED SESSIONS VOL. 1 EP

The Closed Sessions EP Vol. 1 contains 14 tracks, and 9 original songs, all created at SoundScape Recordings in Chicago, IL. The songs were created under a simple idea, take talented artists, put them in a studio with other talented artists and producers, give them access to high quality production, and just get out of their way as they do what they do: create great music

That's exactly what DJ RTC and RubyHornet.com have done on The Closed Sessions EP Vo1. 1 featuring music and videos from some of Hip Hop's most talented artists such as Curren$y, Bun B, Tanya Morgan, Kidz In The Hall, GLC, Chip Tha Ripper, Amanda Diva, Emilio Rojas, Big Pooh, and more.

The free EP includes 9 original songs as well as 5 interludes, liner notes containing the story behind each track as well as individual artwork for each song, and links to each Closed Sessions video giving fans a look at the recording process.

I've had a chance to listen to just about all of the tracks on this project and I am very very pleased with what I hear. The Million Dollar Mano produced "So Cold" featuring CurT@!n$, Hollywood Holt and U-N-I is one of my favorites.

LIL WAYNE FEAT. EMINEM - "DROP THE WORLD" (VIDEO)

Awesome visuals for Weezy's "Drop The World." But then again, how can you go wrong with a Wayne and Eminem collab? That's right you cant. Sidenote; why the hell would someone tag a video?? Fail.

SUPERXOFFICIAL EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW W/ PHRE$HY - "ALWAYS PHRE$H, NEVER STALE"

It's been a while since we've had the pleasure to bring you a SUPERXOFFICIAL exclusive interview. Well, let me take this beautiful Saturday here in Baltimore to officially say the wait is over!. See, unlike the other 1,489,658 music blogs SUPERXOFFICIAL actually steps out and does other things besides post music (wow! what a revolutionary concept. haha). Plus we told you a few weeks ago when we introduced our latest writer, Tyrell aka CEO Tha Politician, that we had oh so much in store for you. See that, we would never lie to you. So lets keep this train moving shall we.

Tyrell recently had the opportunity to sit down with Atlantic Records newest signee, Phre$y, to talk about his recent deal, the NBA, and the first time he stepped foot in a vocal booth (Tyrell had to take a brief break so I have the pleasure of presenting the goods). Now you may have seen Phre$y grace the pages of SUPERXOFFICIAL a few times in the past, and if you haven't do yourself a favor and check out his music here. You wont be disappointed. This interview comes as Phre$y recently dropped his first official mixtape "No Assembly Required" which is getting an extreme amount of buzz on the interweb. So without further ado lets get Pre$h.

SUPERXOFFICIAL (Tyrell): Who was the first person you talked to from Atlantic?

Phre$hy: First person to actually reach out to me or my management from Atlantic Records was Mike Caren (A&R for Atlantic Records).

SUPERXOFFICIAL:
Tell me a little bit more about your deal because you're young and many folks out there are in the same boat you were in with the same major label dreams?

Phre$hy: It's a blessing. It reminds me everyday that my hard work is paying off. Being young and knowing that my career is officially in music and entertainment is a dream come true.

SUPERXOFFICIAL: Where are you from exactly, not the city or state, but talk about your area?

Phre$hy: Typical Brooklyn block, brownstones and corner stores. Surrounded by inspiration that keeps me humble.

SUPERXOFFICIAL:
How has that contributed to your sound?

Phre$hy:
Being from New York I am currently being exposed to something different everyday. Also constantly going to Detroit and listening to what the majority of people listen to there has allowed me to develop my sound. My sound is just a sketch of what goes on in my head and what I've grown around. (That rhymed haha)

SUPERXOFFICIAL:
Think back to the first time you were in a recording studio, in the booth with the headphones on. What was that like?

Phre$hy:
I was nervous. Even though it wasn't the most professional studio I still had to basically perform in front of the engineer. It was all new to me. Confidence builds through time, and it's easily heard. Google my first song "Step Yuh Swag Up", I sound mad scared. (Click here to listen to "Step Yuh Swag Up")

SUPERXOFFICIAL: Describe your work ethic in three words.

Phre$hy: Self.Made.Celebrity

SUPERXOFFICIAL: If hip hop was the NBA, who would you be? What would be the statistical categories to name an MVP?

Phre$hy: I'd say Allen Iverson, he's always been inspirational to me. He accomplished so much at his size and his competitiveness is second to none. To name an MVP I'd base it on consistency, work ethic and just striving to be the best.

SUPERXOFFICIAL:
What would your end of the season award be?

Phre$hy: Most Improved player lol.

SUPERXOFFICIAL:
Would you call yourself "digitally integrated" in society?

Phre$hy:
I would. That's basically what got me the attention needed to appeal to music execs.

SUPERXOFFICIAL: How has the digital world changed music and the sharing of music for you?

Phre$hy: It gave me more exposure and made music more easily accessible.

SUPERXOFFICIAL:
Are u on any upcoming tours?

Phre$hy:
Not yet, soon though.

SUPERXOFFICIAL:
Who would you like to do a song with?

Phre$hy:
Too many people to name. I'm a track hog though, I like doing my own hooks and of course rapping my own verses lol.

SUPERXOFFICIAL:
When does your album drop?

Phre$hy: Shooting for late this year. Definitely going to keep releasing new material as we work on the album though.

SUPERXOFFICIAL:
Do you fear or embrace the future of the recording industry?

Phre$hy:
I embrace it, there's no reason to fear the industry once your a key player. Just going to continue doing what has got me to this point and maybe cop a few chains and cars along the way. =]

YO GOTTI FEAT. LIL WAYNE - "WOMEN LIE, MEN LIE" (VIDEO X .MP3)

Late night post. Just got back in from seeing "Shutter Island" with the wife (BTW, great movie and I urge everyone to check it out) and I cant seem to go to sleep. With that said, I'll have to admit that I am increasingly becoming a big Yo Gotti fan. This track is off his 5th album "Live From The Kitchen" and I love it. I can actually hear Kanye West on a remix? Anyway, Yo Gotti don't let me down for 2010 like Andrew Garcia on American Idol.

JARED EVAN - "FEELING LIKE A SONG" PRODUCED BY !LLMIND (VIDEO X .MP3)

Jared Evan's "Radio In My Head" has been circumventing thru the streets for a few months, so seeing a video from one of the tracks off the project isn't a surprise. Rik Cordero lends his visual expertise to the visuals and does one hell of a job. Kudos.

SHAWN CHRYSTOPHER - "THE AUDITION" ARTWORK

"The reason why I chose to change the artwork is because I felt the previous artwork was too safe. No one was mad at it. No one said "what the fuck is this?" Anyone can have a picture of themselves with text, and for a second I let myself fall into the norm.

Ive recorded over 40 songs since the release of the first artwork and tracklisting, and the entire project has gone in a different direction. It shows more of my personality than anything Ive ever done, and the artwork needed to showcase my personality as well. I truly, 100%, without a doubt believe that "The Audition" will be one of the top 10 projects of 2010! I really want to say top 5, but the blogosphere would go CRAZY....lol. But Ive put A LOT of work into this project. Its hip hop! More hip hop than anything Ive done prior....and on March 23rd, everyone will get to judge for themselves!"

I really like this better than the original artwork we saw for the project. On a side note; has anyone ever seen the movie "The Audition"? Now THAT'S a creepy ass film!

USHER - "LINGERIE" X "SOMEBODY TO LOVE"

FLYY ACADEMY - "FIRST SEMESTER" MIXTAPE X "BOTTLES"

Ok, moments like this are the highlight of my day. See, while I was searching Google images for a pic to put up for a different post I came across these dudes. Not sure how, but I did. Being a naturally curious person I decided to give the music a listen. I initially thought, "yawn...these dudes are a young bubble gum wanna be trill hip hop group." That was until I realized I was nodding my head and tapping my hands to the music. Light bulb! These dudes are pretty dope. As far as originality, I mean its club music. With that said, I like going to the club and I think I would like hearing Flyy Academy in the club. Siskel and Roeper what do you think? Two thumbs up? Yeah I thought so.

The first download is their debut mixtape "First Semester" and the second track "Bottles" is their newest joint jacked from their Twitter page. Im looking forward to hearing more from this duo.
