WILLIAM BALFOUR FORMALLY INDICTED ON HUDSON FAMILY MURDER CHARGES

William Balfour, Jennifer Hudson’s brother-in-law, is being held in an Illinois state prison as the prime suspect in the murders of Darnell Donerson (Hudson’s mother), Jason Hudson (brother), and Julian King (nephew) this past October.

Yesterday, Balfour was formally indicted in court with three counts of first-degree murder and one count of home invasion, according to the Associated Press. Pleading not guilty to all charges, Balfour is being held without bond. As a result, Balfour’s defense attorney Joshua Kutnick has asked that Balfour, 27, be transferred from state prison to Cook County.

Kutnick’s request is expected to be assessed January 20, which is the next scheduled court hearing. Balfour will give his formal plea, and the trial judge will be chosen at this time as well.
